The Pierce Downer PTA is a partnership between parents and educators. We strive to enhance our student’s learning and enrich the lives of the students within the school. It is also a forum for parents to obtain knowledge and voice their opinions about what is happening in our school.
A common misconception about the PTA is that all we do is organize fundraisers and school events. Fundraising is an important and integral part of our PTA as the funds we raise help support many of the programs within our school. But by being a member of and attending our PTA meetings you provide a voice as to how the funds that are raised should be spent within our school.
The Pierce Downer (PD) PTA provides programs that enrich students’ educational experiences and help build our community. Our PTA raises money throughout the year via these methods:
- Annual Giving Campaign
- Gifts and Goods fundraiser
- Social events
- Restaurant Nights
- PTA membership dues
All funds raised are used to support our many programs that can be viewed here.
The PD PTA is run completely by volunteers! The PTA leadership includes an Executive Board along with other volunteers who chair different activities as well as the numerous volunteers it takes to run an event. If you are a Pierce Downer parent, we know you already support your child’s education; please consider taking the next step and joining our PTA.
