Welcome Back to the first official week of school! We hope that our students enjoy meeting their teachers this week and seeing their classrooms. As this school year is looking slightly different from those in the past, we thought it may be a good time to introduce a few easy ways to raise funds for our PTA from home. These ideas are all completely optional, but convenient ways to support the Pierce Downer PTA:
- Amazon Smile – You can now support Pierce Downer while ordering from Amazon Smile! Go to Smile.amazon.com, sign in with your Amazon credentials, choose and select Pierce Downer as your charity. A percentage of your eligible purchases will go directly to our school!
- KOHA App – Please download the KOHA app today and start supporting Pierce Downer! This is an easy and free app that helps give back to Pierce Downer each time you shop at many of our local businesses, such as: Cadence, Mojo’s, Another Round, Zazzo’s, Evelyn Jane, Adorn 512, Bangle Boulevard, and many more! Just download the app (search KOHA in your App Store), register your personal information, select Pierce Downer as your school and start shopping!! It’s as simple as selecting the local business from the approved merchant list, attaching a picture of your receipt and watching the dollars go straight to PD! Click here for more information!
- Box tops – Simply download the Box Tops App, look for the NEW Box Tops labels on store bought items, SCAN your receipt and send your Box Tops virtually to support Pierce Downer! Please contact Jen Meggos at jemeggos@gmail.com if you have any questions.
REMINDERS
First PTA Meeting – The first PTA meeting and New Family Welcome is scheduled for Monday, September 21st at 7:00pm. More details to come!
Chipotle Dine-Out – Don’t forget our first dine-out fundraiser for the year is coming up next week at Chipotle. Next Tuesday, September 8, from 5-9pm, simply show the attached flyer in person or on your device or tell the cashier you are there to support Pierce Downer. Chipotle also has a new addition to this year’s fundraisers and is including online orders via Chipotle.com or the Chipotle app to count toward our fundraising total. When using the online options, please be sure to enter our code, BNENDCN before checkout in the “promo” field.
School Supply Kits – Please remember If you ordered school supply kits from Carlson’s back in June, they will be delivered directly to the school and will be waiting for the students in their classrooms during the Transition Days this week.
Yearbook – If you haven’t done so already, this is the LAST CHANCE to order your 2019-20 yearbook, we only have a few left! Please email Karen Mellen karenmellen@yahoo.com
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Chalk the walk this past Sunday. The sidewalks and blacktops surrounding PD look wonderful! A special thank you to Ami Johanson for all of her help organizing.
Thank you to the Welcome Back Committee that put PD PTA signs on each new family and kindergarten family’s lawns this past week. A special thank you to Vicky Farag and Kara Morrissey for organizing and to Veronica Roche, Ashley Esko, Natalie Wilson, Elizabeth Dean, Mary Beth Muller, and Becky Carson for helping place the signs.
