Fun Lunch – The PTA offers the Fun Lunch program for all grades. Fun lunch is an opportunity for parents to pre-order food from different vendors that will be delivered to school and distributed by a group of parent volunteers during the regular lunch times. Please remember that Fun Lunch is completely optional. You do NOT have to participate if your child is not interested. You can also pick and choose which dates your child participates. It is completely up to your family. This is meant to be something fun for the kids and a day that you don’t have to pack lunches!
Below is the information you will need to register on www.boonli.com, whether you are a new or returning Pierce Downer family. If you are returning family you should be able to login to your account from last year.Click on “register” to create an account with Boonli. Please make sure to register each of your children that will be participating. The school password is PDE257.The website is very user-friendly and will fully explain how to order lunches. You must go to the shopping cart and pay online to complete the order. There is a nominal processing fee so that we can offer our lunch program online.
For the KDG classes we will have Grisamore listed as BLUE and Punzio as YELLOW. Once the classes are assign we can go in and make changes if needed.
Keep in mind you are ordering now just for the first semester. Fun Lunch orders are DUE by Sunday, September 1st! There will be no exceptions to this, so please make sure you get all of your ordering in by this date. The first Fun Lunch will be Friday, September 6th and go every other Friday.

STEAM – The STEAM committee is excited to bring a full year of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math offerings to PD. Please watch this newsletter and the PTA website (STEAM tab) for additional programs. In addition, if you would like to be a part of our committee or see if it may be a good fit for your volunteering time, please email Kate Urban at kateberry6@gmail.com. You can be involved as much or as little as you like!
- Chess Scholars – Chess is back at PD for the 2019-20 school year! Chess Scholars will be offering classes beginning Monday, September 23rd from 2pm-3pm. It will run for 9 sessions. No experience necessary; the class is open to all students (K-6). Children will be taught the game and have guided practice time. Click on this link for flyer and registration Chess Scholars Flyer.
Welcome Back Party – Please join us on the school playground for a fun family event on Tuesday, August 27th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. A DJ will be providing the music, there will be face painting, Zazzos will be selling pizza and a drink for $4 (CASH ONLY), and all kids will receive a sweet treat! All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to attend.First PTA Meeting – The first PTA meeting and New Family Welcome is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30pm in the school gym. Babysitting is provided. The Pierce Downer PTA will also start their annual giving campaign and you will be able to purchase your PTA membership at that time.
