Artcot – JUST ADDED – Chinese Folk and Classical Dance! The doors open at 6pm for you and your family to explore nine countries around the world! The Cultural Dancing will now begins at 6:30 (Starting with the Chinese Folk and Classical Dance) in the gym and should go until about 8pm. The event ends at 8:30pm. Hope to see you all there! Fun Run – Join us for our annual one-mile Fun Run/Walk this Thursday at 3:15pm, rain or shine! Last-minute registrations will be accepted in the school office through Thursday afternoon or at the registration table the day of the event, but the racing bibs and drawstring bags are limited so please sign up ASAP.
All parents need to be aware of the street closures at pick-up time on Thursday due to the Fun Run. The street closures are in place to ensure student safety during the Fun Run.

End of Year School Party – End of Year Party is right after the Fun Run this Thursday May 11! After working up a sweat, come around to the back of the school and dance away with Coach Josh! Every kids will also get a popsicle!! Please stay with your kids as this is not a drop off event. The social is over at 5:15!
Summer Math Club – Don’t let your student’s math skills fall behind this summer! Summer Math Club packets will come home in the upcoming weeks. - West Suburban Humane Society – Would you like to learn how WSHS safely cares for the animals? Sign up for a tour Wed, May 17th, 6:30 – 7:30pm. Only 17 spots available. Student Assembly – Last Friday morning, May 5th, students attended a PTA sponsored assembly, entitled “Wheel of Wisdom.” This fun, educational, and interactive assembly is set up like a game show where contestants can answer questions, spin the wheel, and rack up points. Questions ranged from grade level subject material to more lighthearted topics about Pierce Downer school. Be sure to ask your student how they fared in the game show!
Thank you to Teri Bonk and Joanna Matthies for organizing Teacher Appreciation Week! We also want to say THANK YOU to all who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week 2017 the best that it could be! Thank you to all who donated time, tasty baked goods, pretty paper products, beautiful center pieces, generous gift cards and so much more to make the week so special! The teachers and staff from Pierce Downer definitely felt VERY appreciated! If you donated a baked good item on a plate or platter and did not stop in the lounge at the end of the day to pick it up, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you again to all who so generously donated to make Teacher Appreciation Week 2017 so wonderful!
