PTA Meeting and Volunteer Luncheon – Please join us at RBK at 12:00pm THIS FRIDAY!
This is open to ALL parents who have served in ANY volunteer capacity during the course of the year. The PTA can not provide the breadth of programs without the financial support and volunteer support from our community.
We will be approving the PTA board slate for next year and other year end business. We will also be looking to approve two important budget items for the upcoming school year:
- Funding of a portable PA/Speaker System at the request of Mrs. Collins.
- Funding of “Welcome to Pierce Downer” signs to include ALL new students to the school, instead of just new families.
Please plan on attending the PTA Luncheon if you wish to vote on these agenda items.
All are welcome and the cost is $5.50 per person. Please sign up here if you are able to come!
Summer Math Club Volunteer Needed- Lisa Ordway has graciously volunteered to chair this program at our school for one final summer. Thank you, Lisa! We would love to have someone new co-chair with her this summer- in order to make a smooth transition for next year. Please see the attachment for the job description/responsibilities. Thank you to Vikki Jacknow for organizing Teacher Appreciation Week! And thank you to all of the families that participated! The PD teachers and staff really felt special and we appreciate all of you who generously donated your time, talents and gifts.
REMINDERS
Kickbowl 2019 – We extended the sign up deadline until tomorrow! Please sign up here by the end of the tomorrow, Wednesday May 15th.
Field Day – Field day is Monday, June 10th. This is a fun filled day for the kids, but can not happen without the help of volunteers. Doughnut Day! – Bring your positive MALE role model (Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, etc.) to school for doughnuts, coffee and conversation! Come to the Pierce Downer Gym at 7:40am on Monday, May 20th for K – 3rd grade students. Everyone will be dismissed at 8:10am to line up outside with their class. Fight Like a Girl Social Fundraising Event – Please join us on Saturday, May 18th from 7-11p.m. at the Royal Order of the Moose Lodge for a fundraiser to support the Pierce Downer family of two-year-old Regan Ulazsek, who is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). All proceeds will go directly to the Ulaszek family to help with Regan’s future medical expenses. Tickets are $40 per person or $80 per couple and can be purchased at https://fight-like-a-girl.
