NEW INFORMATION

School Kit Orders – Our school supply ordering site for next year is officially LIVE!  The flyer for 2021-22 is attached here.  To order your school kits, please go online to www.carlsonschoolkits.com, click on Downers Grove, and select Pierce Downer.  Remember to order for your children’s NEXT year grade!  Please also note that there are some optional items for purchase such as white t-shirts (adult Medium) for Art, and headphones, should you want them.  Kits will be at school in your children’s classrooms for the first day of school in the fall.  Our sale closes June 20, 2021. Last PD PTA General Meeting for 2020-21 school year – The PTA will hold its last General Meeting for this school year on Tuesday, May 18th at 7:00 pm.  The Meeting will be held at our co-presidents house, Melissa Poirier at 4640 Seeley Ave.  We will be voting on the PD PTA Board Members for 2021-22 and saying goodbye to our outgoing Board Members.  Please join us for the final general board meeting of this school year!
Skuddklebutts Dine-Out – Please mark your calendars for Wednesday May 26th for our last dine-out of the year at Skuddlebutts.  More information to come next week!!

PD SCholarships – Congratulations to our very own PD alumni, Lucas Marra and Emma Cho, the two seniors receiving $1000 in scholarships this year. Lucas and Emma received their scholarships at the DGN Awards Night held last week.  Also, a big thank you to Jennie Amidei for chairing this committee!!

DG58 Award – Congratulations to our very own Mr. Steele on receiving the DG58 Distinguished Service Award!  This award program annually invites community members to nominate District 58 employees who exceed expectations and serve as inspirations to their community. Only two winners are chosen each year.  A huge thank you to Mr. Steele for all you do for PD!

All School Yearbook – We hope to send out a link for ordering the 2019-2020 all school yearbook from Jostens sometime soon.  Stay tuned!

Volunteer Signup – The Signup for the 2021-22 school year will be sent out soon.  This is a great opportunity to chair or join committees and volunteer for the various activities sponsored by the PD PTA.  

REMINDERS

Teacher Appreciation Week – A HUGE Thank you to Jen Meggos and Victoria Jacknow for their amazing efforts during Teacher Appreciation week.  Also, a big thank you to the PD families that helped make this week so special for the teachers and staff.  
Year end reimbursement/checks – Have you submitted all of your PTA related expenses for the year? Please complete the check request form here and either email to Veronica Roche at veronica.e.roche@gmail.com, drop off at the school office or drop off in her mailbox (1308 Warren Ave) as soon as possible.
