Go See Your World Champion CUBS! – Here is a great opportunity for you to bring your family to Wrigley Field to watch the World Champion Chicago Cubs with all of your PD friends on May 1st! The tickets are $10 each. The tickets will be in the 200 level and the Cubs are going to do everything possible to have us close together. Due to the high demand this will be a first come first serve basis. Look for the form in today’s folder. The form and the money are due March 23rd!
Student Assembly – On Friday, March 17th, SCARCE will present an assembly called the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to all students. P.D. staff members will attend a SCARCE training session during the assembly. The assembly and staff training are steps toward an Earth Flag Certification for DuPage County Schools. Pierce Downer is conserving resources and creating a healthy environment!
Survivor Snack Challenge – The Survivor Idol is back up for grabs! Can your student out play and out last the Healthy Kids Committee and Fresh Thyme Survivor Snack Challenge? Want to know what they’re playing for? Knowledge that healthy foods are delicious, the idol, and the chance to win a treat for their classroom. The challenge will happen March 20th, 22nd and 23rd. Please click here for the registration form. Each student who wishes to participate needs a completed form. Any questions about this years food items can be forwarded to Ziba Irvin at zibascott@sbcglobal.net. Be sure to get the form turned in by Friday. The challenge is on!
Fresh Thyme Healthy Foods Event – In collaboration with Fresh Thyme and the Survivor Snack Challenge, please join the Fresh Thyme dietitians for a fun after school event on April 4th at 4:00 at the Downers Grove store. Restock after spring break and have some fun! Learn about healthy foods, play some games, and compete in an in store scavenger hunt for fun prizes. Parents and students are welcome.

- Let’s Build It – Crazy Circuits (1st – 6th Grade)- A cutting edge area of engineering. Design and build! Projects will include a disc launcher, electronic games, musical instruments, alarms and more.
