Variety Show – The Variety Show is coming up on Saturday, February 25th at 10am. If you want to remember your kids incredible talents please look out for the form coming home in todays folders for the DVD purchase ($20) and/or a 5×7 professional picture ($5). The form and the money needs to be turned in by Thursday February 23 to the office folder labeled Variety Show DVD/Pics! District 58 Board Candidate Forum – O’Neill Middle School PTA invites you! We are hosting a Candidate Forum for the District 58 School Board on Tuesday, February 14 at 7:15pm in the cafeteria. The candidates will briefly introduce themselves. We will collect questions from the audience and have the candidates answer the questions that reflect the audience as a whole. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the candidates and be an informed voter in April. Being members of the Illinois PTA, O’Neill and all other District 58 PTAs do not endorse any one candidate. We are offering this forum as a service for all of our community members.
Sweetheart Dance – Guys and Sweethearts this Friday is the last day to RSVP to the dance! The dance is Tuesday February 14 from 6:30-8:30 at Pierce Downer. Coach Josh will be spinning tunes, a Photo Booth will be there and a sweetheart rose for your girl at the end of the night! Service Learning – The following events are for PD students and their families! The Service Learning Committee has set everything up for you. Just choose an activity for your family and RSVP. Every activity requires an adult chaperone. - Kindness Pouches –The SLC is proud to be partnering with Student Council again on the Kindness Pouches! We are collecting warm socks, hand warmers, granola bars, trail mix and chapstick to distribute to the homeless. Items can be dropped off in the bins next to the LRC throughout the remainder of the school year.
- Lexington Nursing Care Center – Please join the SLC for our February volunteer opportunity! We will be visiting the residents of the Lexington Nursing Care Center in Lombard (2100 S. Finley Rd.) to make Valentine crafts together. The event will be Monday, Feb. 13 at 3:30. All craft materials will be provided. We have space for 15-20 volunteers to join us! It really brightens the day of the residents to have young visitors. Please note that all students must be transported and accompanied by an adult during this event. - Common Threads (Kindergarten- 3rd Graders) – Cooking for Life with local chef Rae Ellen. Learn about nutrition and healthy cooking. Students will make and eat a healthy snack during class.
