TONIGHT!! Pierce Tavern Dine Out – Please join us for our monthly dine-out TONIGHT at Pierce Tavern! Dine in or take-out from 5-9pm and 10% of your check will go back to our school! Please keep your receipts and submit them to our easy to use KOHA app (more details below) to raise money for the PD PTA!


STEAM – The STEAM committee is excited to bring back a full year of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math offerings to PD.  Please follow this newsletter for additional programs throughout the year.  Please contact Ami Johanson at with any questions, thank you!
  • Young Rembrandts: Young Rembrandts is BACK at Pierce Downer this year with drawing classes on Tuesdays 3-4PM.  Click here for the flyer and enrollment information. Classes begin the week of November 2nd and run until Dec 14. All students grades K-6.
  • NEW! – Spanish Club – The Language Labs will be offering Spanish classes starting from Wednesday November 3rd from 3pm-4pm.  It will run for 26 weeks. The class is open to all students (K-6). Click on this link for flyer and registration.


DGN Homecoming Parade – The DGN homecoming parade is scheduled for Friday, October 22nd at 3:15pm SHARP. If your family would like to walk in the parade to represent Pierce Downer, please meet at Herrick at 3pm so we can walk together to the Prince Street DGN parking lot to assemble our group for the parade. We ask that families wear DGN colors (purple and white) and bring individually wrapped candy to toss to the parade viewers. All children in grades 3 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult to participate in the parade.

Holiday Wreath Sale  – For the first time, PD PTA is offering Holiday Wreaths!  Each wreath is handmade of balsam fir in Giles, WI.  We are offering two sizes of wreaths, 20” and 26” and they are adorned with a red velvet bow and three pine cones (click here for pictures). These fresh wreaths have a 6-8 week life expectancy. The 20” wreath is $25 and the 26” wreath is $35. Wreaths will be delivered to school the week of Thanksgiving. If you are unable to pick up your wreath, we also offer delivery for $10. Our sale starts NOW and ends on Monday, November 1st and orders can be placed on MemberHub. Thank you to all who attended and helped with the Fall Fest fundraiser! We are excited to announce that we raised $3680.16 for the PTA! These funds will go right back to our students through academic enrichment.

Thank you to all who participated in Charleston Wrap and Spirit Wear Fundraisers, because of you the PTA raised $1878.60 and $1786.00 respectively!
