Book Fair Extended – Looking to get a jump start on summer reading and/or donate a book to your child’s classroom? Anderson’s Bookstore will still allow orders from the Spring Book Fair!!  Families can select home delivery (small fee) or pickup at our local Anderson’s bookstore. All profits will benefit the Pierce Downer school library. Also, teacher wish lists are still accessible on the book fair website PD Bookfair Teacher Wishlist .  This is a great way to stock your student’s classroom library!!

CLOSING SOON: School Kit Orders – Don’t forget to order your school supplies for next year! The flyer for 2021-22 is attached here.  To order your school kits, please go online to, click on Downers Grove, and select Pierce Downer.  Remember to order for your children’s NEXT year grade!  Please also note that there are some optional items for purchase such as white t-shirts (adult Medium) for Art, and headphones, should you want them.  Kits will be at school in your children’s classrooms for the first day of school in the fall.  Our sale closes June 20, 2021. The PTA could not accomplish all of the programs, events, and services for PD without your help!  We would like to take this opportunity to recognize the following committees/volunteers who we did not thank previously.  Many of these committees work behind the scenes on a daily or weekly basis without recognition:
Thank you to Carin Hawkins, Dee O’Driscoll, Meganne Wecker, Jennifer Klemz, Lori Doy, Erin Guth, Elizabeth Dean, Maggie Roth, Amanda Moore, Nancy Deaton, Stephanie Vroman and Elizabeth Riley for giving our 6th graders a wonderful DVD and yearbook, as well as volunteering for the 6th grade breakfast. They worked tirelessly to make such beautiful keepsakes and a memorable breakfast for our 6th graders. 
Thank you to Kelly Henrikson, Jamie Moss and Donna Miller for coordinating and organizing the Art Awareness program!  Even though we had to participate in art awareness outside of school, they provided us with a few very detailed videos on how to make art at home.
Thank you to Victoria Jacknow for coordinating the Charleston Wrap fall fundraiser.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that help in the Lunchroom and during intermission breaks.  Also a big thank you to our Room Representatives.

Thank you to Megan Shoemaker for coordinating volunteers for Field Day.
A HUGE thank you to all of the co-chairs and committees that were involved in so many events that did not happen this year, including: VIP Day, Dads/donuts, Sweetheart Dance, Panther Pacers, Variety Show, Battle of the Bands, Welcome Back Party, End of Year Party, Fun Run, and Kickbowl to name a few.  So many hours went into preparing these events and we truly appreciate all that you do!
And finally, a huge thank you to our outgoing PTA Board Members – Nicki BlattnerMegan Shoemaker, Kerry Sharpee and Kelly Henrikson. We all appreciate the many years you served Pierce Downer on the PTA Board!
