Reflections – Pierce Downer is immensely proud of this year’s participants. We had 10 entries to the PTA Reflections contest, ‘I Matter Because…” Students exhibited skill, imagination and passion through their artwork. Each entry is an impressive display of Pierce Downers creativity and talent. Below is a list of our participants:

Film Production– Intermediate Level 3rd-5th Priya Fisher-Advancing to State; Middle School Level 6th-8th Avery Miller-Advancing to State

Carnivore and the Queen – Thank you to everyone who participated in our March Dine Out, because of you we raised $110 for the PTA!
 

As a reminder, due to spring break, we will not have a newsletter for next week.  The PTA wishes all of our students, families, teachers and staff a very happy and healthy spring break.

Carnivore and the Queen Dine Out TODAY and TOMORROW – Please join us for our monthly dine-out at Carnivore and the Queen! This is a two day event, so please enjoy some delicious food today, March 17th and/or tomorrow, March 18th, from 3-9pm. Simply mention PD Fundraiser when ordering and 10% of your check will go back to PD. View the menu at Carnivoreandthequeen.com and see the flyer here.

Carnivore and the Queen is offering indoor dining, take-out and curbside pickup options and will also be offering the following dinner specials for our two day fundraiser:

  • Wednesday 3/17 – St Patrick’s Day: Irish Corned Beef Sandwich and Gourmet Burger special
  • Thursday 3/18: Prime Rib Supper special

Teacher Grants – As this year has been such a challenging year and our teachers have gone above and beyond to nurture, enrich and keep our students safe, the PTA Board voted unanimously to award the grant to all of the teachers who applied. Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Zach Frazier, we were able to add an additional $500 to make the total dollar amount awarded $1500!  Congratulations to the following teachers: Mrs. Boyce, Mrs. Breualt, Ms. Eilers, Mrs. Minardi, Mrs. DeMarco, and Mrs. Doose!

 
REMINDERS
 
Spring Book Fair – We are excited to be partnering with Anderson’s for our annual Spring Book Fair!  The fair is currently live and will be open for ordering through Tuesday, March 23rd.  Families can select home delivery (small fee), pickup at our local Anderson’s bookstore, or opt to have your order conveniently delivered to school.  As in years past, all profits will benefit the Pierce Downer school library. In keeping with tradition, there is also the option to purchase and donate a book to your student’s classroom library.  Teacher wish lists are currently accessible on the book fair website (see below).  This is a great way to stock your student’s classroom library!!

– Click (Add to Cart) for each book you would like to purchase

– Fill in the required fields on the Checkout page, including your School Name and City
