SLC  – The Service Learning Committee is back for 2020-2021 and is committed to helping out our community and we need your help! We are partnering with World Relief DuPage/Aurora www.worldreliefdupageaurora.org to collect coats, gloves, hats and scarves, new or gently used in sizes ranging from 2T – Adult Large, female and male.  World Relief DuPage/Aurora has welcomed refugees and immigrants since 1979. They offer holistic services designed to promote local integration so that refugees and immigrants root and flourish in supportive communities.  The Coat and accessory collection will run October 28th to November 9th with two drop off locations at the front doors of Amidei’s house or Garman’s house, in designated boxes.  Any questions please contact Jennie at jenamidei@gmail.com or Carrie at carrie.c.garman@gmail.com.

REMINDERS

Reflections – The Reflections program is back for the 2020-2021 school year! Reflections is a National PTA art program where each student is encouraged to submit an entry in one or more of 6 creative categories: Dance, Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. This year the National PTA Reflections theme is: ‘I Matter Because…” As many school communities will be learning remotely, National PTA supports and encourages our PTA’s to run their Reflections programs virtually.  National PTA will accept virtual entries and typed signatures on these Student Entry Forms from the State PTA’s. Please access the call to entry flyer here and some general rules and guidelines here. Please note some virtual entries, i.e. visual arts, will require 3 photographs to be sent along with the student entry form (close up and different angles suggested). Fill out the student entry form (link above) and get your submissions in by November 9th! We are navigating through this virtual process for the first time, so your patience is appreciated. Feel free to reach out to PDreflections@yahoo.com and we would be happy to answer any of your questions!
