NEW INFORMATION

Gifts and goods – The annual PD PTA gifts and goods sale from Charleston Wrap begins next week on Monday, September 14th. The Charleston Wrap virtual catalog has high-quality items that make great gifts.  The holidays will be coming soon…get a headstart on your shopping!  Please ask your friends and family if they would be interested in purchasing something.  Every purchase will help and make a difference.  This is an important way for our school to raise funds for the PTA.  This year, we will be going completely virtual, and your purchases will be delivered directly to your homes prior to our thanksgiving break. Please look out for more information and links to view the virtual catalog in next week’s newsletter.

Room Representatives Needed – We are looking for Room Representatives for each Teacher for the 2020-21 school year! Normally, duties include recruiting volunteers for classroom parties and Art Awareness. Obviously, these duties will not be utilized until school is in person. Additionally, Room Representatives work directly with Teachers on any special need for volunteers and/or classroom communication. This is a wonderful opportunity to volunteer for the school from home! If interested, please contact Jennifer Klemz at jaklemz@gmail.com.  We do our best to accommodate requests from Room Reps for specific Teachers (your child will always be a student of the specific Teacher if you are selected as Room Rep).

PD PTA Fundraising – As this school year is looking slightly different from those in the past, we thought it may be a good time to introduce a few easy ways to raise funds for our PTA from home. These ideas are all completely optional, but convenient ways to support the Pierce Downer PTA:

  • Amazon Smile – You can now support Pierce Downer while ordering from Amazon Smile! Go to Smile.amazon.com, sign in with your Amazon credentials, choose and select Pierce Downer as your charity.  A percentage of your eligible purchases will go directly to our school!
  • KOHA App – Please download the KOHA app today and start supporting Pierce Downer! This is an easy and free app that helps give back to Pierce Downer each time you shop at many of our local businesses, such as: Cadence, Mojo’s, Another Round, Zazzo’s, Evelyn Jane, Adorn 512, Bangle Boulevard, and many more! Just download the app (search KOHA in your App Store), register your personal information, select Pierce Downer as your school and start shopping!!  It’s as simple as selecting the local business from the approved merchant list, attaching a picture of your receipt and watching the dollars go straight to PD! Click here for more information!
  • Box tops – Simply download the Box Tops App, look for the NEW Box Tops labels on store bought items, SCAN your receipt and send your Box Tops virtually to support Pierce Downer! Please contact Jen Meggos at jemeggos@gmail.com if you have any questions
Thank you to all who participated in last night’s Dine Out with Chipotle.  Because of you, the PD PTA was able to raise $355!!
