REMINDERS
Annual Giving Campaign/PTA Membership – Although this new school year has been VERY different from years past, your PD PTA has been hard at work!  What we worry about the most at this time is “are we going to raise enough money to support all of our PTA sponsored programs this year?”  We sure hope so!  That’s why we are again launching our Annual Giving Campaign! This year it will cost the PTA $55/per student to fund all of our current programs, which is a substantial $30 decrease/per student in what we have been requesting from families in years past. There are MANY programs that still need to be funded by the PTA, even without our students physically in school (as of yet) and typical social events happening (e.g., high tech/high touch, staff supplies, classroom subscriptions, Senior Scholarships, accelerated reader, teacher appreciation, to name a few). We are asking parents to please donate what suits your family.  We hope to have 100% participation this year.  
We also encourage everyone to become an active member of our PTA! By joining, you’ll have voting rights on decisions that affect our school. 
  • A Single PTA Membership costs $15 and gives you one login for our Directory Spot App.
  • A Family Membership costs $20 and gives you access to the Directory Spot App for the entire family. 
  • Directory Spot provides easy access on the go for phone numbers and emails for other Pierce Downer families.  

To become and PTA Member and participate in our Annual Giving Campaign follow these steps (see this flyer for additional info):

1.  Click HERE to be linked to our MemberHub store.
2.  Add your family’s Annual Giving Campaign donation to your cart.
3.  Add your family’s PTA membership selection to your cart.
4.  Checkout!
Please pay for your PTA Membership no later than October 9th, as your previous DirectorySpot app access will expire and the 2020-21 DirectorySpot will be updated by October 12th.  The Pierce Downer PTA is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.  Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
 
Gifts and goods – The PD PTA annual gifts and goods fundraiser Gifts and goods Charleston Wrap sale EXTENDED!! PD PTA thanks you all for your support during our annual Charleston Wrap fundraising sale. We have decided to extend the sale thru October 6th. This year’s sale will be completely virtual and all of the products you order will be delivered directly to your home before the thanksgiving break. Charleston Wrap has over 2500 beautiful gifts and wrapping paper, all available at reasonable prices. Please support our school by making a purchase and telling all of your friends and family!  Please review this flyer for more details. To order, please click here to place your order online. Downtown DG Girls Day Out – Thank you to all who participated in this fun day/night out last week!  We do not have any information on sales totals yet, but once we do, we will share them.  In addition, we are only $170 away from earning a $500 bonus for our PTA from KOHA, so please send in those receipts (especially from Girls Day out)!!

There are MANY programs that still need to be funded by the PTA, even without our students physically in school and typical social events happening (e.g., high tech/high touch, staff supplies, classroom subscriptions, Senior Scholarships, accelerated reader, teacher appreciation, to name a few). If every family donated $55 per child, we would not have to do any other fundraisers to cover the items that are already budgeted for this year.  While we know this isn’t possible, we are asking parents to donate what suits your family.  At this point due to state wide restrictions on social gatherings, we do not anticipate being able to host our typical large fundraising events, such as trivia night. As a result, we will need to be able to fund the current year PTA activities with the amounts raised via the Annual Giving Campaign. We hope to have 100% participation this year.  

In addition, this is the time to join the PTA! This year’s sale will be completely virtual and all of the products you order will be delivered directly to your home before the thanksgiving break. Please support our school by making a purchase and telling all of your friends and family!  The more email invites you send, the more supporters we’ll get! So, break out your email contact list, share on social media, and help spread the word! In addition, PD receives 40% of all sales, with the exception of monogrammed items which we receive 30% of all sales.  Please review this flyer for more details. Girls Day Out – Support the Pierce Downer PTA and local businesses at downtown Downers Grove’s annual Girls’ Day Out on Thursday, September 24 from 10am-8pm! 10% of all purchases from participating shops and restaurants will be donated back to the Pierce Downer PTA when you click and print your  “Hall Pass”. The school with the best attendance will earn an extra $250!!!! A list of participating businesses can be found here. While you’re shopping and dining, don’t forget to upload your eligible receipts to the KOHA app!
