Artcot – This Friday, October 25th come make art at the Pierce Downer Art Museum. Explore sculpture, painting, print making, and so much more from 6:00 – 8:30pm. This is a family drop-in event for parents and students to explore art together! Click here for more information.
PTA Meeting & Presentation – The PTA is sponsoring a short presentation and Q&A with Dr. Kevin Russell, superintendent of DG58 on Tuesday, November 12th at 7pm in the PD Library after a brief PTA meeting. Dr. Russell is excited to meet a lot of our PD parents on this informative night!
REMINDERS
Chipotle Fundraiser – Please join in support PD at Chipotle (corner of Ogden and Saratoga) tomorrow, Wednesday, October 23 from 4pm to 8pm. Simply show the flyer (click here) or access it via your phone to earn 33% of your bill for PD!
School Assembly – Students will participate in the Wheel of Wisdom assembly in the gym this Thursday, October 24. The assembly is a high energy game show experience where kids answer a variety of grade level quiz questions. This is the first PTA-sponsored assembly of the year. Don’t forget to ask your child what they learned!
Evereve Night Out – Come Shop With Us!! Join us Tuesday, November 5th from 6pm-9pm at Evereve in Burr Ridge for wine, snacks and shopping. 15% of the sales will go back to Pierce Downer school. Please email Melissa Poirier melissaeve26@gmail.com
Box Tops – Last call for paper box tops! Those who have clipped and collected box tops over the year, please send them to school! Box Tops will still be sent in during the transition to the app. The first submission date is November 1st. A box can be found in the Pierce Downer school office where Box Tops can be dropped off. Please place them in a ziploc bag and label how many are in the bag. Keep scanning those receipts, using the Box Top app and helping our school earn more!
Reflections – Reminder that all Reflections projects are due November 1st! Reflections is a National PTA art program where each student is encouraged to submit an entry in one or more of 6 creative categories (listed below). This year the National PTA Reflections theme is: “Look Within.” Please review the rules carefully before your student begins his or her project(s).
