PTA Meeting and Volunteer Luncheon – SAVE THE DATE! Please join us at RBK at 12:00pm on May 17th! This is open to ALL parents who have served in ANY volunteer capacity during the course of the year. The PTA can not provide the breadth of programs without the financial support and volunteer support from our community. We will be voting on year end budget spending, approving the PTA board slate for next year and other year end business. All are welcome and the cost is $5.50 per person. Sign-up coming soon!
 

Kickbowl 2019 – Calling all PD Boys for the annual kickball tournament with your favorite lady!  The date is May 22nd from 5:30-8:30pm and pizza will be served!  Please sign up here by May 10th.

 
Family Night Show and School Assembly – Please join us for Tim Hannig’s Pro-Kids Family Night Show! Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 6:30pm at Pierce Downer. The evening show will focus on character building and feature magic, music, comedy, and motivation. Students will have an assembly during the school day and then families are invited to attend the evening show.You won’t want to miss this exciting night for our school family. Doughnut Day! – Bring your positive MALE role model (Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, etc.) to school for doughnuts, coffee and conversation! Come to the Pierce Downer Gym at 7:40am on Monday, May 13th for 4th – 6th grade students & Monday, May 20th for K – 3rd grade students. Everyone will be dismissed at 8:10am to line up outside with their class. If you have any questions, please email Nicki Blattner at pattonnicki@hotmail.com.

Battle of the Bands – Thanks to all the bands for putting on a great night of music! And thanks everyone that came out to the show!  We raised over $2000 for the PTA!

School Supply Kits – Place your student’s school supply kit order now for the 2019/2020 school year.  Order & pay ONLINE ONLY via www.carlsonschoolkits.com.  For complete ordering information click on 2019 Supply Kit Flyer.  Orders will be accepted through Friday, May 10th.

Fun Run – You MUST BE REGISTERED to participate in the fun run. Shirts will be handed out at the end of the day Wednesday so you can wear your shirt to school on Thursday! We still have limited shirts available. Contact sarahhoulihan@me.comor register day of the race after school at the registration table!

McTeacher Night – Come out and visit your teachers at McTeacher night is this Thursday, 4/18 from 4 – 7pm at the McDonald’s located at 225 E Ogden.  20% of all receipts from in store, drive-thru and Uber Eats delivery sales will be donated back to the school! For flyer, click here. 
 

Trivia Night – Thank you so much to everyone that came out to Trivia Night! It was a HUGE success and fun was had by all. Thanks especially to some of our key sponsors – Fresh Thyme, Big Cat Productions and Zach Frazier Orthodontics, along with the generosity of all our local businesses and, of course the PD Parents and staff that came along. A special thanks to the entire Trivia Night Committee- Megan Shoemaker, Veronica Roche, Jack Carson, Lora Dominow, Emily Norton, Laurie Siebert, and Beth Polito Riley.   This success could not have happened without your hard work!

We’re proud to announce that we were able to raise over $14,000 at the event!

Battle of the Bands Adult Show Raffle – Forms due next Wednesday! Enter for your chance to win priority seating at the Battle Of The Bands show at Ballydoyle on Saturday, April 27th! Look for raffle forms in your child’s folder or click here. Winners will be drawn on Thursday, April 25th at lunch! Good luck and see you at the show!

Fun Run – The Fun Run committee is looking for volunteers! Volunteers will need to be at school on Thursday, May 2nd from 2:45-4:00pm. Please sign up here to help with setup, registration, crowd control (K-3 sign and 4-6 sign), handing out balloons to top ten girls/boys, photographer, water table, bananas/bagels and clean up.
