Service Learning Committee – SLC & Student Council are partnering up! Have you been “tidying up” lately? Did you know cleaning out your closets can HELP OTHERS and SAVE THE EARTH! Willowbrook High School in Villa Park houses a “Warrior Boutique” in their school which provides new or gently used clothes for free to high school students in need. Many students who attend this neighboring high school come from low-income households and often times aren’t able to purchase items they need for important events like interviews, attire for a job, graduation ceremony, etc. The Student Council and Service Learning Committee are collecting professional items for men and women – bags, purses, ties, interview shirts and pants, suits, dress shoes, vocational attire, winter and other seasonal coats, and dresses (casual and formal). Not only can “tidying up” be a random act of kindness, but you will be helping the environment by recycling your clothing! Donations can be dropped off in the boxes at school. We will be collecting donations between February 12 and 22. (If you’re helping at a Valentine’s Day classroom party, bring your donations then!)
