Mindful Parenting –The PTA will be sponsoring a parent education talk on Tuesday, November 14th at 7pm in the gym on ‘Mindful Parenting’ and how to teach mindfulness to our children. Our presenter is Shantal Alonso, a well known mindfulness educator, writer, and life coach. If you’d like to read more about her, you can visit her website at evoyoution.com. The first 15 minutes will be a short PTA general meeting.
The PTA Board Meeting – The PTA Board will have their monthly meeting on Monday, November 13th at 9 am. - West Suburban Community Pantry Visit– The West Suburban Community Pantry offers food for the hungry and resources to empower persons to improve their quality of life. Their vision is a community without hunger. Come tour the facility and share in the joy of giving by helping stock the shelves.

Fall Book Fair – The Scholastic Book Fair will be held next week in the LRC during parent-teacher conferences. Students will have a chance to preview the fair during the school day on Wednesday before we open up to the public that evening. Be on the lookout for a flier & Scholastic catalog coming home with your student in the next week. We are looking for a few volunteers during the fair hours to help things run smoothly- if you are interested please contact megan.altholz@gmail.com. Come out and support the LRC and the love of reading!

Donate Candy for Troops – Tomorrow is the last day to donate your unwanted/extra Halloween candy! Simply drop candy in the collection boxes in the front school lobby. The Healthy Kids Committee in collaboration with FedEx is collecting candy to be sent to Operation Gratitude who will send the candy to our troops stationed overseas during the holidays.
