PTA Meeting & Presentation -The PTA is sponsoring a presentation and Q&A with Dr. Thiele, superintendent of DG99 and Jill Browning, Communications Director for DG99 on Tuesday, January 30th at 7pm in the PD Library after a brief PTA meeting. Dr. Thiele and Ms. Browning will be giving an overview to the additions and modifications to the facilities at DGN (and DGS – but our presentation will focus on DGN) which have been approved by the DG99 school board. The Downers Grove community will be asked to vote on this issue in March. It the desire of the PTA to inform Pierce Downer parents of what is happening at the high school level because eventually it will effect our children (some sooner than others). Please join us on January 30th for a presentation outlining the proposed changes, what they will cost and how it will effect you.
Variety Show – Please find the link below to “Variety Show Application & Permission Slip” for all audition/rehearsal and sign up information. The form must be completed for all participants including 6th-grade Emcees and Stage Crew.
All forms will be completed online this year and only ONE parent leader for each group will complete the Act Information section. ALL participating students must have the permission slip completed in order to participate. Completed forms are due no later than Friday, February 9th. - Wednesday, February 21st– Auditions 3:00pm-5:00pm – PD Gym
- Wednesday, March 7th– Rehearsal – 3:00pm-5:00pm – PD Gym
- Thursday, March 15th – Dress/Tech Rehearsal (Beginnings/Endings/Bows) – 3:15pm-5:15pm – TIVOLI
- Saturday, March 17th – Tivoli Show – 10:00 am-12:00pm
Battle of the Bands – SAVE THE DATES –
- The Battle of the Bands Kid Show is April 6th at the Moose from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
- The Battle of the Bands Adult Show is April 21th at Ballydoyle from 7:00pm- 1:00am.
Student Assembly – On Thursday, January 18th, Imagination Theater will visit Pierce Downer for a student assembly. They will be performing the program Ease the Tease. The performance group will use scripted scenes, improvisation, games, and a whole lot of audience participation to make sure students’ tool boxes are full of strategies to handle challenging and unexpected situations.
