PTA Meeting & Presentation – The PTA is sponsoring a short presentation and Q&A with Dr. Kevin Russell, superintendent of DG58 and a few additional BOE members on Monday, November 16th at 7pm after a brief PTA meeting. Dr. Russell is excited to meet a lot of our PD parents on this informative night. More specific details on this meeting to come soon, but please calendar the date!
Evereve Style Social – Join us for a Style Social at Evereve in Burr Ridge on Thursday, November 19th from 10am-8pm! 15% of total sales will be donated to the Pierce Downer PTA. See the attached flyer for more information, and make sure to RSVP to Megan Shoemaker at meganrinaudo@gmail.com. Please note that all in-store purchases that day will be able to be returned by exchange only. We hope to see you there! If you’re unable to attend but would still like to take part in the event, Evereve is offering a “Dressing Room To Go” service. Call the store 2-3 days before the party and order a bag for pick up. Their stylists will pull together 10-15 items that you can pick up and return within 48 hours. You only pay for what you keep, and 15% of your purchase goes towards the PTA. Don’t forget to mention that you’re shopping for the Pierce Downer PTA Fundraiser when you call!

Healthy Kids Committee Halloween Candy Donation – Remember, we are collecting Halloween Candy to donate to St Joseph Pantry and the DG Fish Pantry through this Friday, November 6th. This year, we cannot collect any candy at school, but please drop off your extra candy in boxes left out at one of the following families porches:

Reflections – The Reflections program is back for the 2020-2021 school year! Reflections is a National PTA art program where each student is encouraged to submit an entry in one or more of 6 creative categories: Dance, Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. This year the National PTA Reflections theme is: ‘I Matter Because…” As many school communities will be learning remotely, National PTA supports and encourages our PTA’s to run their Reflections programs virtually. National PTA will accept virtual entries and typed signatures on these Student Entry Forms from the State PTA’s. Please access the call to entry flyer here and some general rules and guidelines here. Please note some virtual entries, i.e. visual arts, will require 3 photographs to be sent along with the student entry form (close up and different angles suggested). Fill out the student entry form (link above) and get your submissions in by November 9th! We are navigating through this virtual process for the first time, so your patience is appreciated.
