Reading Games – We are happy to announce that the District 58 Reading Games will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at O’Neill Middle School. Registration will open soon, so begin to form your teams now! The Reading Games is a free and fun district-wide reading competition for District 58 students in grades 3-8. The program aims to introduce new genres of books to students and to encourage students to enjoy reading. Students form teams of 5-8 children, collaborate to read 12 books, and answer trivia questions. December Dine “Inn” Event – Let’s raise some “dough” with our next Dine-“Inn” event. Order your take n bake pizzas with Home Run Inn! Enjoy a complete and easy stress free meal with pizzas, salads and even cupcakes and lighten your holiday work load! Pizzas are even freezable!! Holiday Parties at PD – Please calendar this Friday, December 3rd at 9:00 am to sign up for classroom Holiday parties at PD. If you already volunteered at the Halloween party (grade specific if you have more than one student at PD) this year, please let other volunteers sign up to help out. More information will be included in Friday’s signup link!

Fun Lunch – Our next Fun Lunch is Zazzo’s pizza on December 10, 2021! Fun Lunch orders are due TOMORROW Wednesday, December 1st. Please note December 10th is the only date available for purchase at this time. You will need to register on www.boonli.com, whether you are a new or returning Pierce Downer family. Click on “register” to create an account with Boonli. Please make sure to register each of your children that will be participating. The school password is PDE257. You must go to the shopping cart and pay online to complete the order. There is a nominal processing fee so that we can offer our lunch program online. SLC Events: Calling all Elves!! Please help families in need through these opportunities:
- Take Home Jingle: Holiday Stocking Stuffer Event (Event is closed) – If you picked up a stocking before Thanksgiving, please note that stocking return dates to Pierce Downer are Thursday 12/2 and Friday 12/3. SLC members will have a table set up in front of the school to collect stockings. If you didn’t pick up a stocking, there are other ways to donate, see below!
- PADS Urgent Needs & Sharing Connections Coat Drive – Contribute to the DuPage PADS Urgent Needs & Sharing Connections Coat Drive to support families in need during this holiday season. Needed items can be sent to school with your child and dropped in the Christmas decorated bins near the office, or you can drop off items on our collection days 12/2 or 12/3 after school.
