PD Yearbook – Even though the Pierce Downer Yearbook won’t be out for months, now is the time to get photos of the children for inclusion in the yearbook. We have created a Google Drive folder where photos can be stored. Obviously, this year does not look like the typical year, with the students switching from hybrid to remote learning. We ask that you send any pictures you may have of the students outside of the school or remote learning from your home. The teachers and staff at PD are also contributing what pictures they have been able to take of the students this year. A few things to consider, Photos that are close enough to see the expressions on faces work the best. Action shots also work very well, as they convey movement and interest. The more pictures we collect early and often, the more we have to choose from when the time comes to lay out the yearbook! REMINDERS
Evereve Style Social – This Thursday, November 19th join us for a Style Social at Evereve in Burr Ridge from 10am-8pm! 15% of total sales will be donated to the Pierce Downer PTA. See the attached flyer for more information, and make sure to RSVP to Megan Shoemaker at meganrinaudo@gmail.com. Please note that all in-store purchases that day will be able to be returned by exchange only. We hope to see you there! If you’re unable to attend but would still like to take part in the event, Evereve is offering a “Dressing Room To Go” service. Call the store today and order a bag for pick up. Their stylists will pull together 10-15 items that you can pick up and return within 48 hours. You only pay for what you keep! In addition, you can phone in specific orders directly to the store. Don’t forget to mention that you’re shopping for the Pierce Downer PTA Fundraiser when you call!
Pierce Downer Spirit Wear – Spirit wear is currently on sale! There are several new items as well as everyone’s old favorites this year! All items will be delivered to your homes before our winter break and make great gifts for the holiday season! All orders are due by Wednesday, December 2nd. SLC – The Service Learning Committee is pleased to offer TWO OPPORTUNITIES for PD families to help our neighbors in need this holiday season! We are excited to partner once again with Sharing Connections!!
1.) HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE for 5-9 year olds struggling with poverty (toy ideas and links below)
2.) HOLIDAY MOVIE NIGHT WITH YOUR FAMILY – start a new tradition and watch “It’s a Wonderful Life” with your family this season (link below)

Some ideas for toys include: Lego sets, ethnically diverse dolls/Barbies, walkie-talkies, remote control toys, sports items, light up dance mat, and action figures. You can find more ideas on their Amazon wish list. (They are requesting new, unwrapped toys.) Sharing Connections is glad to receive multiples of the same toy, and $25 gift cards to Walmart and Target are welcome as well. The Toy Drive will run from now until November 25th.
